Calendar

Paloma gives you two calendar views: a dashboard calendar that shows your event inquiry pipeline at a glance, and a date picker in your booking widget that shows guests which dates are available. They serve different purposes and display different information.

Dashboard Calendar

The dashboard calendar shows your Paloma inquiries as calendar events, organized by event date. You’ll find it under Calendar in the main navigation.

Each event on the calendar corresponds to a booking inquiry in Paloma. The calendar pulls directly from your inquiry data, so there’s nothing extra to set up. As inquiries come in and progress through statuses, they appear and update on the calendar automatically.

Filtering and display options

You can customize how the calendar displays events. Your preferences are saved automatically and persist between sessions.

  • Venue filter – If your organization has more than one venue, use the venue selector to choose which venues’ events to show. By default, all venues are included.
  • Status filter – Filter events by booking status (Confirmed, Booked, Completed, Responded, and others). By default the calendar shows Confirmed, Booked, and Completed inquiries. Statuses that aren’t relevant to your selected venues are hidden automatically.
  • Week start day – Choose which day your calendar week starts on (Sunday through Saturday). This affects the grid layout, the week view, and all date calculations.
  • Variable-height rows – Expand or collapse event rows in the calendar grid to show more or fewer details.

Widget Date Picker

When guests use the Paloma booking widget on your website, they see a date picker that shows whether each date is available, partially booked, or closed. This helps guests pick dates that work for your venue and reduces back-and-forth.

The date picker checks your connected Google Calendar (if you have one) and combines that with any manual overrides you’ve set in your venue settings. Paloma’s chat assistant uses the same availability information when guests ask questions like “is Saturday open?”

Each date shows one of these statuses:

  • Available – The date is open for new inquiries.
  • Partial – The date has some bookings but may still have capacity.
  • Unavailable – The date is fully booked or doesn’t meet capacity requirements.
  • Closed – The venue is closed on this date.

Note: Manual date overrides that you set in your venue settings affect only the widget date picker and chat availability. They do not appear on the dashboard calendar.

Calendar Settings

You’ll find calendar settings under Settings > [Your Venue] > Calendar.

Opening days

Select which days of the week your venue is open for events. Days you leave unchecked are treated as closed by default in the widget date picker.

Cutoff date

Control how far into the future guests can request dates. You can choose:

  • Automatic – A rolling window (for example, “2 years from today”) that moves forward over time.
  • Manual – A fixed date that you set yourself.

Manual date overrides

Mark individual dates as Available, Partial, Unavailable, Closed, or Override Open. You can also attach a guest-facing note to any date (for example, “Call for same-day availability”). These overrides affect what guests see in the widget date picker and what the chat assistant reports. They do not appear on the dashboard calendar.

Availability queries

Toggle whether Paloma checks availability for your venue at all. When disabled, the widget date picker won’t show availability statuses.

Google Calendar and availability rules

To connect your Google Calendar or configure advanced availability rules (like capacity thresholds, room mapping, or event-matching patterns), reach out to Paloma support. We’ll set everything up on your behalf and make sure the rules match how your venue operates.
