Getting Started

Welcome to Paloma. You run the venue; Paloma works alongside your team as a 24/7 concierge for your private event pipeline. Guests submit inquiries through a booking widget on your site, Paloma qualifies each one, keeps the details in sync as the conversation unfolds, and surfaces the stats that help you book more events with less chasing. This page is your map: a quick tour of what it takes to get live, with a link to the full guide for each step.

You won’t do most of this alone. Setup is hands-on with us, so think of the steps below as the shape of the journey rather than a checklist you have to grind through solo.

Getting set up

1. Get your widget live

The booking widget is how guests reach you. You can share a direct link on your social channels and emails, or embed the widget right on your website so guests inquire without leaving your site. Most venues do both. See Installation for the link and website options, including step-by-step guides for Shopify, Squarespace, and WordPress.

2. Shape your inquiry questions

The questions a guest answers in the widget should match how you actually take events: your occasions, your party sizes, your rooms. You can edit the wording, options, and order yourself from the dashboard, and we handle the more advanced flows from our side. See Customizing Your Inquiry Questions.

3. Define your spaces

Tell Paloma about the rooms and configurations guests can book: names, photos, capacities, and what makes each one special. Your spaces power the See Our Spaces gallery in the widget and help the chat answer questions like “do you have a room that fits forty seated?” See Spaces and Venue Settings.

4. Set your availability

Decide which days you’re open, how far ahead guests can request dates, and which dates are blocked or limited. Guests see this in the widget’s date picker, so they pick dates that work for you and skip the back-and-forth. See Calendar.

5. Build your Q&A library

Guests ask about parking, dietary needs, minimum spend, and more before they inquire. Paloma answers those questions in your voice, right inside the widget, drawing on a library of question-and-answer pairs you author or approve. The more you cover, the more the widget handles on its own. See Answering Guest Questions.

Once you’re live

When inquiries start landing, the day-to-day rhythm is simple: a guest submits, your team replies on the email thread, and Paloma keeps the dashboard and event details current without anyone clicking a button. The Workflow Guide is the one page to read end to end. It covers inquiry statuses, how to respond, moving an event toward booked, and the follow-up digest that keeps anything from slipping through the cracks.

As inquiries flow through, Paloma also tracks how your pipeline is doing and sends your team a weekly summary email, so you always know what’s working and where to put your time.

We’ll help you get there

You don’t have to figure this out from a docs page. We set up the parts that aren’t self-serve, walk through the rest with you, and tune everything to how your venue actually runs. The best first step is a quick call so we can get you live the right way.
